I answered this on my Goodreads Authors page.

That’s a tough one, as two couples come to mind. Jane Eyre and Edward Rochester were such compelling characters. I actually acted in the play in high school when I was fourteen–I played the maid–so the story has been with me for a long time. Their tortured romance makes for an engrossing story. The other couple that is very special for me is Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy. I love the intelligent and headstrong character that is Elizabeth and how she comes to love the secretive and brooding Mr. Darcy, who is actually honest and true. I had the chance last year to visit Jane Austen’s home in England and got to see the desk where she sat and wrote this classic. I actually told the tour guide that my first book was being published (a romance) and how meaningful it was for me to visit. She couldn’t have been nicer. Needless to say, I loved the experience of understanding more about Jane Austen’s life and writing environment. I hope that answers your question. All the best, Phyllis Piano
