I have always felt so fortunate to be able to travel around the world, both personally and professionally, throughout my adult life. My husband is English, and all of his family are still in the UK, so we visit as much as we can. We have both traveled throughout Europe and a bit in Asia for our jobs as well, which gave us additional opportunities to discover new places.

Traveling to see family and friends make the trips so much more fun. I thought I’d share some of my favorite photos with you in this space. Unfortunately, there are too many of me!

That’s me with the statue of John Lennon, which is on Mathew Street in Liverpool where the original Cavern Club was located and the Beatles got their start. My husband is from Liverpool, and it is home for us as well when we visit. We have such a great time seeing family and friends while in the city and country. Liverpool is a fabulous place.

My sister and niece came with us to England last year. We had a great time and traveled around the country to see some amazing things.

I took this photo from the London Eye (the giant Ferris wheel), so you can see Big Ben, Parliament and quite a lot of the city. My sister hadn’t been to England before and really loved it. My niece had an opportunity after her first year of college to do a summer in London, so this was a return visit for her.

On this trip, we went to Highclere Castle, the home of Downton Abbey. That’s me in the gardens, where I know they filmed a number of scenes. One of my friends, Steph, lives about 45 minutes from the castle, and she and her husband, Mark, were kind enough to host my husband and me as well as my sister and niece. As avid fans of Downton Abbey, we just had to go. We had a blast!

I took this photo from the grounds of Highclere Castle. It looks just like the opening credits on the television show. We were lucky in that we went there on a very nice day.
